Extracurricular

Extracurricular

Penola High School provides students with a wide range of extra-curricular activities designed to broaden students’ experience.

We utilise peer mentoring within our site, and in collaboration with our feeder schools, to offer

students authentic teaching and learning

opportunities. Our students are also encouraged

to partake in local, state and national competitions,

some of which are listed below. We have a strong

public speaking program with students participating

in a range of competitions, such as:

  • Lions Voice of Youth

  • Rostrum Voice of Youth

  • Debating Eisteddfod

Students are also encouraged to enter literary and art competitions:

  • Catherine Martin Literary Award

  • The Country to Canberra Essay Writing Competition

  • John Shaw Nielsen Junior Art

  • National Photographic Competitions

And, Science and Mathematics through:

  • Science and Engineering Challenge

  • Maths Quiz Night

  • National Science Camps

  • STEM in Education

Penola High School staff, and the SRC, welcome suggestions as to new programs and opportunities we can offer for our students.
